The Healthlines Study: NHS Direct in the management of long term conditions
The Healthlines Study is a research programme that aims to develop and evaluate a new telehealth service, delivered via NHS Direct, to support patients with long-term conditions. The study is being led locally by Prof Alicia Cathain at the University of Sheffield.
We are looking to enrol 17 practices within NHS Sheffield to assist with patient recruitment. Each practice will be asked to carry out records searches to identify 100 patients with either raised cardiovascular risk or depression, who will be invited to take part a patient survey. A small number of patients, GPs and practice nurses will also be asked to participate in a qualitative interview study. Service support costs will be made available to practices to cover this activity.
Healthlines is taking place in South Yorkshire hub.
