Janice Strand - Locality Manager

Janice completed registered nurse training in 1992 and worked in a variety of clinical areas including coronary care and diabetes. In 1997, she was appointed Cardiology Clinical Trials Sister and in 1999, she led a medication management research project. In 2001, Janice was appointed as inter-professional education research manager, and then as a research nurse in competence assessment. She was appointed Locality Manager for the Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Rutland hub in August 2007. |

Jane Robertson - (Seconded to Interim Locality Manager Trent Hub

Jane completed registered nurse training in 1975 and midwifery training in 1978, working as a community midwife in north west Leicestershire until 1985. In 1988, she obtained a BSc Hons in Human Biological Sciences. From 1988 to 2003, she worked in ergonomics research, and from 2004 to 2007, she worked for Nottingham University, undertaking research into osteoarthritis. In 2008, she undertook a return to nursing practice course and joined PCRN in January 2009. As CSDO for Leicester City and County, Jane works with researchers and practices to implement research studies, supporting practices as required. |
Stephen Zingwe - Clinical Research Development Officer

Stephen qualified as a Registered Mental Health Nurse in April 2003, completing his Diploma in Higher Education. He has worked in various clinical settings, including forensic mental health and adult acute mental health inpatient services. In December 2005, he completed his BA Hons in Health and Social care and went on to complete a Masters degree in Public Health. He now works for PCRN EMSY as a Research Development Officer covering Northamptonshire, and is hosted by NHS Northamptonshire in Northampton. |

Mohammed Ahsan - Clinical Studies Development Officer

Mohammed obtained his medical graduation from Bangladesh in 2000 & completed his clinical training in 2001. He then joined the pharmaceutical industry and worked for Aventis Pharma and F. Hoffmann-La Roche for about 6 years at various levels as an Oncology Associate, a Clinical Research Associate and a Portfolio Manager. His role at the industry included monitoring and managing clinical trials. In 2007, he started studying towards an MSc in ‘Management in Health & Social Care’ at Oxford Brookes University as a full-time student and completed in 2009. He then joined University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust as a ‘Portfolio Research Coordinator’ to provide advice & support to the researchers on NIHR portfolio studies. Mohammed is now working as a ‘Clinical Studies Development Officer’ for Leicester City and Leicestershire & Rutland County and is supporting primary care researchers on the NIHR Portfolio studies |

About our research
The healthcare service for primary care in LNR is comprised of general practices, dentists, community pharmacies and opticians, all serving a geographically dispersed area characterised by rich ethnic diversity.
