Legal Notices > Privacy Policy

At the Primary Care Research Network East Midlands and South Yorkshire (PCRN EMSY), we recognise that privacy is important.  This document outlines the type of personal information we receive and collect when you use the PCRN EMSY's services, as well as some of the steps we take to safeguard information.  We hope this will help you make an informed decision about sharing personal information with us.

Scope

This notice offers the full PCRN EMSY Privacy Policy, which describes in detail the privacy practices that apply to the PCRN EMSY's products, services and websites worldwide.

Personal information and other data we collect

The PCRN EMSY website is hosted by a third party, Studio 2 Online ltd, in the UK.  The PCRN EMSY collects personal information ("personal information" is information you provide to us that personally identifies you, such as your name, email address or other data) when you register for a PCRN EMSY service or otherwise voluntarily provide such information.

The PCRN EMSY website uses cookies (a "cookie" is a small file containing a string of characters that is sent to your computer when you visit a website).  The underlying system the site runs on will use cookies as part of an individual session, but these are not retained for tracking purposes across multiple visits.

Uses

We may use personal information to provide the services you have requested, including services that display customised content and advertising.

We may also use personal information for auditing, research and analysis to operate and improve PCRN EMSY services.

When we use third parties to assist us in processing your personal information, we require that they comply with our Privacy Policy and any other appropriate confidentiality and security measures.

We may also share information with third parties in limited circumstances, including when complying with legal process, preventing fraud or imminent harm, and ensuring the security of our network and services.

Personal information collected by the PCRN EMSY will be held on computers at evoture, and only PCRN EMSY and Studio 2 Online staff will have access to it.  The PCRN EMSY will have to share the data with Studio 2 Online as the website service provider.  Studio 2 Online will keep personal information on a secure server, and will fully comply with all applicable UK Data Protection and consumer legislations in place.

Your choices

We offer you choices when we ask for personal information, whenever reasonably possible.  You can find more information about your choices in the privacy notices or FAQs for specific services.

You may decline to provide personal information to us and/or refuse cookies in your browser, although some of our features or services may not function properly as a result.

We make good-faith efforts to provide you access to your personal information upon request and to let you correct such data if it is inaccurate and delete it, when reasonably possible.
