Getting out of the House Study - A multi-centre randomised controlled trial of rehabilitation aimed at improving outdoor mobility for people who have had a stroke
PCRN EMSY is currently supporting the Getting out of the House Study (TOMAS).
The purpose of this trial is to investigate the clinical effectiveness of treating outdoor mobility limitations following a stroke with a targeted rehabilitation therapy intervention versus standard clinical practice. The intervention group participants will receive up to 12 outdoor mobility visits from OT staff.
TOMAS is a three-year study running in seven PCTs across the country. Locally, it will be looking to recruit 30 GP practices across Nottingham City, Nottinghamshire County and Lincolnshire.
